The volunteers at Farmtown Park and people in the rural community have memories of life in Hastings County. They also have valuable skills they would like to share about growing crops, caring for animals, making cheese and butter, and all the domestic arts like cooking, preserving, spinning weaving and knitting. We are recording and sharing these stories.
We are documenting the History of the Hastings County Museum. Meet the 2012 Inductees to the Quinte Agricultural Hall of Fame, and explore the gallery of the previous inductees all of whom have contributed so much to agriculture and the community.
The idea for the Hastings County Museum of Agricultural Heritage was born in 1986 at the International Plowing Match here in Stirling as a way to capture the history of agriculture and rural life in Hastings County. Twenty five years later the Agmuseum at the Stirling Fair Grounds is an amazing facility showcasing rural life and our living farming heritage. The name changed to Farmtown Park in 2012 to reflect all the new developments.
