1944 -2006
Jim dedicated his life to his family operated dairy farm. Jim always found time to give back to agriculture.
He was a volunteer 4-H leader for 20 years and served as President of the Hastings 4-H Leaders Association. Jim was President and a long time Director of the local Co-op. During his second term as Co-op President he assisted in arranging the purchase of the Foxboro Co-op and the acquisition of the True-Value franchise enabling the co-op to be more modernized.
Jim and his wife were active in 1986 when Hastings hosted the International Plowing Match. In 1989 Jim was elected President of the Hastings County Plowmen's Association and acted site coordinator for the highly successful Hastings County Farm Show and Plowing Match. He has served as Director from Hastings County to the Ontario Plowmen's Association and on the executive and as President in 2003 of that organization.
Jim was founding co-chair of the Hastings County Museum of Agricultural Heritage in Stirling.
